Bat Walk

 

Our second Bat Walk was held on the Lane, on 9th July - with good weather, and a capacity attendance.

The Echo batmeter attaches to a smartphone, and shifts the bat calls into the audible range. It can also identify the type of bat. These results were obtained walking up and down the lane ( twice) -

Bat types recorded - NYCNOC is the Nocturn,
PIPPIP the Pipistrelle

Frequency Spectrum, Pipistrelle

Everyone saw a few bats, and heard many more; most stayed well beyond the planned 10:30 finishing time. See our petition update for more details,
